A TASTE OF WILD PACIFIC SALMON
MAY 13, 2008
7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Washington Hotel Coffee Room
402 W. Lakeside, Madison, Wisconsin

Slow Food Madison is proud to sponsor the Wild Salmon Road Show in Madison and will offer a tasting of smoked Pacific salmon on May 13th. Pacific salmon is one of our nation's last great wild meals - delicious, nutritious, and highly regarded across the country.

The tasting will be from 7:00 PM-8:30 PM at the Washington Hotel Coffee Room, at 402 W. Lakeside, Madison. Our host, Leah Caplan, will prepare a delicious wheatberry salad and bake breads from Washington Island grain to complement the fish.

As we sample the foods we will meet and discuss sustainability issues with Nate, a 3rd generation fisherman from the Pacific Coast; Bill, a fishing guide and Joseph Bogaard, of the Save Our Wild Salmon Road Show.

The $12.00 cost will cover the purchase of local ingredients and this Pacific Northwest treasure to adhere to the Slow Food principles that our food should be good, clean and fair.

Come see the star of the road show, a giant, 2-ton, 25 foot long fabricated salmon. Kids can climb inside; the insides are painted with images of healthy habitat. Serious fun with a serious message!

Join us for a really fun and delicious gathering at the same time! Space is limited so please RSVP to

The Road Show is a three month, public outreach project to raise alarm and public awareness on the plight of the endangered wild salmon and steelhead populations. They are going from Washington State to Washington DC, stopping in more than 50 cities in more than 20 states.
